Cats Can’t Dance
At Madame Petal's School of Dance, the mirrors glitter, the music tinkles, and the floor hums with tiptoes.
Every morning, eight cats arrive with their dancer owners and watch the class with wide eyes, twitchy whiskers, and very serious expressions. And every one of them is absolutely certain that they could do that.
So they try.
Suki the Siamese attempts a perfect pirouette and ends up wrapped in a pink ribbon. Muffin the Persian taps his fluffy paws so softly it sounds like someone dusting a pillow. Jasper the Maine Coon leaps once and vanishes entirely under a mountain of feather boas. There are freezes that topple, contemporary leaps that land in knots, salsa turns that slide in circles, breakdance sweeps that end in furry pretzels, and one dramatic flamenco tumble straight into a laundry basket.
Watching it all from the windowsill is Pip, the little studio kitten. And when the music finally pauses and Madame Petal turns to him and asks, "Will you show us what a cat can do?" Pip hops down and discovers something wonderful.
Cats can't dance like humans. But they have a style all their own.
A giggly, heartwarming celebration of trying anyway, failing magnificently, and finding the thing that is uniquely, perfectly yours.
